Elevate Credit Union Launches First Financial Literacy Book for Secondary Schools
Empowering Teens to Talk About Money, Build Confidence, and Plan for the Future
Elevate Credit Union is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever Financial Literacy Book for Secondary Schools, a practical resource designed to help teenagers start meaningful conversations about money and develop essential personal finance skills.
The book was created in collaboration with students and teachers from Coláiste an Phiarsaigh, ensuring it is both relevant and engaging for young people. It covers key topics such as saving, budgeting, borrowing, and planning for the future, providing students with the tools and confidence to make informed financial decisions that will benefit them throughout their lives.
“Talking about money at a young age gives students a head start,” said Gary Hanrahan, Marketing Manager at Elevate Credit Union. “We believe that by opening up these conversations now, we’re helping them build independence, confidence, and the ability to make smart financial choices as adults. Financial literacy isn’t just about numbers — it’s about creating opportunities and shaping a better future.”
Each secondary school within Elevate Credit Union’s common bond will receive 100 free copies of the book. A digital version is also available for download on the Elevate Credit Union website, ensuring students and teachers can access the resource anywhere, anytime.
This initiative follows the success of Elevate Credit Union’s primary school financial literacy book, released earlier this year — the first of its kind produced by an Irish credit union. With this new project, Elevate Credit Union continues to champion financial education and support the development of informed, confident, and financially capable young people in the community.
